Last year, I think it was, I was bored. I was serfing the net one day, when I came across www.genesreunited.co.uk. I thought it was pretty cool, an I registered and put in my details an those of my brothers and sister, mum, dad, nan and two grandads, uncles, and two cousins that I know of, and never thought anything would come of it. I didnt' know where to start about tracing people I didnt' know so I just left it and forgot about it. I changed my email address since then, but still keep the old one for junk. So, today, I was just minding my own business, sorting out my junkmail, when I came across a notice from genes reunited saying that I had a message on the site from someone called Gavin. Gavin is my cousin!!! He lost touch with my uncle over twenty years ago and noone's heard of him since. Anyway, I looked in to his tree, and traced his mum, and his sister, who unfortunately died before I was born. I knew their names, and I knew roughly where and when him and his sister had been born. I looked up the details and found everything I searched for. He is my cousin!!!!! I'm waiting for him to email me back. He probably thinks I'm not going to contact him as the email he send me was a good couple of weeks ago... It's amazing what you find when you clear out your junk mail!!! I've never even met him. I've heard of him, but I never thought I'd have any kind of contact...... It's sosososo cool!!! I asked him for information of his mum's name, if he had brothers and sisters and what their names are so I could work out if he was who he said he was, but i've found that information myself, so that was a bit of a waste of time, but i can't wait until he answers! I so hope he answers!!!

Wow yeah that is amazing! I tried finding my dad using all that net stuff, but never found anything. So I always thought it was all worthless, but knowing someone who actually came across family wow. <smile> hope he writes back girly.

Ines, yeh, anyone can look, if you know where or how... Me, I just put in the information I had of my family and got stuck. I could have gone looking for records, but I didn't. He found me!
